QUIETLY YELLOW
As newlyweds their brand new home was a blank canvas. With the holidays around the corner they wanted to host their family for dinner, so our first focus was the dining room. Their style was polished and understated. The yellow color palette was a perfect backdrop for the dark espresso furniture and was prominent in the granite of the adjacent kitchen.
Although a small room, we maximized the design details by keeping a monochromatic theme. Above the chair rail we painted a soft contrast yellow stripe while keeping the woodwork and ceiling white to flow with the rest of the home. The bow window is dressed in classic European pleated draperies made from a textured fabric and mounted on hand-forged pewter color rods. We kept the accessories simple — pewter accent pieces, a pair of porcelain handmade vases and a Hessam gicleé gallery wrapped print.
